We like to recycle, especially when we can re-use our strong coffee bags and making functional wallets and bags out of it.
We were looking for a talented sewer in South Africa by checking out local markets where a lot of women sell they’re craftmanship.
In Franschhoek we have found Ida who impressed us with her home sewed bags, which she sells at the local market. Ida originally is from Zimbabwe and immigrated a few years ago to South Africa, living now in the nearby township.
It needed quite a bit of training though until she was able to stitch our coffee bags. They are tough and not as easy to work with like cotton. But now we are super happy with the outcome, especially also we can give business to Ida.
The wallet is tough, practical and looks great.
